Bio of C/Lt. Col. Dan Brodsky
Cadet Daniel Brodsky joined Civil Air Patrol in December of 1992. In July 1993, he attended his first encampment at Camp Smith as a member of Echo
Flight, which was honor flight for that year. He earned his Billy Mitchell Award in August of 1994. In 1995, he began to attend encampments at Fort Drum as a member of the cadet staff. He served as Logistics OIC, Flight Sergeant, Cadet Squadron Commander, and Deputy Cadet Commander in 1995, 96, 97, and 98 respectively. He earned the Amelia Earhart Award in August 1996 and the Eaker Award in June of 1997.
In 1999, Dan was chosen to be the Cadet Commander of the Wing Encampment, and was also elected to serve as Vice-Chairman for the New York Wing Cadet Advisory Council. In May of 2000, Dan became a senior member, and served at the 2000 encampment as a TAC Officer.
At his squadron, Dan has served various cadet roles including Cadet Commander, and began his senior member career as Cadet Programs Officer for his squadron and Assistant Cadet Programs Officer for Central New York Group. He was also responsible for re-establishing the Group Cadet Advisory Council.
Dan is currently a senior Computer Science major at Utica College of Syracuse University, where he is president of the college Hiking Club. He is also a Software Engineer for BAE SYSTEMS, working on a contract sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Dan has also volunteered his time working on several political campaigns.
