MEMORANDUM FOR Cadets and Seniors applying for IACE

FROM: NYWG/CPAN
      817 Stewart Avenue (Rear)
      Garden City, NY 11530-4856

SUBJECT: International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE) 2001 Application Procedure

1. IACE is an exciting opportunity for both cadets and senior members to
represent our country to youth aviation programs worldwide. This distinction
can only be bestowed upon the best cadets in the nation, and consequently,
New York is only able to nominate two cadets for the activity. Members
participating in IACE will be required to purchase the CAP Blazer uniform,
approximately $500. The activity is completely paid for- airfare, lodging,
tours and food.

2. National HQ has special instructions outlined in the November or December
CAP News pullout and the CAP NHQ CP webpage (http://www.capnhq.gov/nhq/cp/cp.htm,
click on "International Air Cadet Exchange 2001" when it is available).
Cadets must mail in the cards per the instructions in the CAP News. Cadet
applicants must be a Cadet Captain (Earhart Award) on or before 31 December 00
as it appears on the MML in order to apply. Applications are due 31 December 00.

3. A memo will be published shortly explaining how the review boards will be
conducted. Phone interviews and/or piggy-back on the Cadet of the Year review
boards will be among the considerations.

4. Application packages for IACE will include a copy of CAPF 31 strictly for
IACE (NCSA's and Hawk Mt. have seperate 31's from IACE), and the CAP resume.
Links to these forms appear in the memos posted for NCSA's on 21 Nov 2000.
